TDRealty, a leading African-American and Woman-Owned real estate brokerage in the Dallas/Fort Worth region is announcing an innovative way for real estate agents to maximize their earnings in today’s highly competitive market.
TDRealty has just changed its compensation model, so now the brokerage does not charge agents splits or transaction fees. Owner Tanika Donnell says, “the traditional business model is broken. When brokers take 15% or 20%, it’s hard for agents to get their businesses off the ground.”
Donnell says this compensation model is particularly necessary today, especially in DFW where there are more than 30,000 licensed real estate agents. TDRealty is the largest African-American and Woman-Owned real estate brokerage in DFW utilizing this approach. While offering this benefit, the brokerage still provides all the traditional resources real estate agents would expect from a brokerage – without the overhead cost.
Real estate agents will still receive access to a comprehensive customer relationship management (CRM) platform, lead generation support, in-house professional industry training, and professional mentoring and coaching. Typically, small brokerages don’t offer those services, and large ones do – only for a percentage – which can leave real estate agents at a disadvantage.
“Technology and our partnerships have made this an affordable and sustainable model for us,” Donnell says. “The cost to run your brokerage has decreased with the advancement of technology, but many large brokers continue to apply the old model of doing business, thus increasing their profit margins and pushing the burdens on the agents.”
Donnell is striving to make a difference and leave a lasting impact in this industry. A top-producing agent herself, Donnell implemented this model in order to build her brokerage the way she wishes she had experienced when she entered into the real estate business several years ago. She knows all too well the pain and struggle that new agents feel when trying to gather the finances to grow their business.
